Shimano Ultegra 3500 XSD Competition Reel, The new Ultegra 3500 XSD Competition reel is developed with the fanatic surfcast angler in mind. Compared to the ‘normal’ Ultegra 14000 XSD the competition model has a more shallow spool with a line capacity of 0.20mm-200m. It is packed with Shimano features, like X-SHIP, Super Slow Oscillation, and Aero Wrap II. The spool is very shallow in order to fish with thin lines. There is also a small hole in the spool in order to pull the line through and make a knot on the inside of spool. By doing so the outter surface of the spool stays nice and smooth without knots, eventually increasing your casting- distance and accuracy. Ideal for spodding use.
